When broadcasting flakes, we recommend throwing them at a 45 degree angle parallel to the floor. This will ensure that you will receive the proper and even coverage with each batch of flakes.
Partial
The best way to broadcast a partial or decorative flake floor is as follows:
1. Pour flakes into a 1 - 2 gallon bucket.
2. If right handed, hold the bucket under your left arm like a football.
3. Grab a small pinch of flakes with your right index finger, thumb, and forefinger, and gently flick the flakes up and let the flakes fall down like snow.
Apply the flakes evenly and to your liking.
Full
The best way to broadcast a full flake floor is as follows:
1. Pour flakes into a 5 gallon bucket from Home Depot or Lowes.
2. If right handed, hold the bucket under your left arm like a football.
3. Reach in with your right hand and scoop up as many flakes as you can and "feed the chickens"
4. We call it "Feeding the chickens" because you grab a handful and broadcast them up into the air allowing them to fall down heavily and evenly.
For a full flake floor system you will need 1lb of flakes for every 8 Sq Ft of flooring.
For a partial flake floor floor system you will need between 5 to 10Lbs for every 400 Sq Ft depending on personal preference.
