How vinyl flake floors work
Vinyl flakes are decorative color chips broadcast into a wet base coat. Once the base coat cures, the loose flakes are scraped, cleaned, and sealed under a clear topcoat. The result is a floor with color variation, texture, and far better visual coverage than a plain solid color coating.
Flakes are used in two ways. A full flake floor is broadcast until the wet base coat is completely covered. A partial flake floor uses a lighter broadcast so some base color still shows. There is more on choosing between the two further down.
Choose your vinyl flake style
Multicolor flakes
The most common choice for garage and commercial flake floors. These blends combine several colors for depth, variation, and a finished professional look. Popular Torginol blends include Domino, Gravel, Wombat, Shoreline, Creekbed, Orbit, Tidal Wave, Nightfall, Raven, and Cabin Fever. A multicolor blend is the best starting point when you want a proven look that works in many spaces.
Solid color flakes
Used to build a custom blend, add an accent color, or control tone and contrast. Instead of a pre-blended mix, installers use solid color flakes to adjust a blend or match a commercial color scheme. A strong choice for custom blends, logo and design work, and color matching.
Marble flakes
For a softer, stone inspired finish with more visual movement than a standard blend. A good fit for decorative floors, showrooms, retail spaces, residential interiors, and custom garages where you want a look that feels different from a typical garage blend.
Full flake vs partial flake systems
A full flake system uses a complete broadcast to full rejection. It gives a thicker decorative layer, hides more concrete imperfection, and is the most common professional garage floor finish. A partial flake system uses less flake so the base coat color stays visible, which lowers material use and creates a lighter look.
Both One Stop Epoxy systems arrive complete. Each includes our One Stop Epoxy brand 100% solids prepigmented base coat, your flakes, and the right topcoat. The full flake system comes with Poly Gloss 85 Polyaspartic as the standard topcoat. The partial flake system comes with our Urethane WB interior topcoat, with Poly Gloss 85 available as an upgrade.
On material, our kits are built so you never run short. Full flake kits include enough flake to broadcast heavy enough to reach full rejection, about 1 pound of flake per 7 square feet, so you can flake to rejection and recover the excess. Partial flake kits include 8 pounds per 400 square feet, which is 1 pound per 50 square feet, so the installer has more than enough.

Choosing a flake color
Flake color sets the tone of the whole floor. A lighter blend brightens a space, a darker blend adds contrast, and neutral blends are popular because they match many wall colors, cabinets, and vehicles. When choosing, think about your lighting, your cabinet and wall colors, how well the floor hides dirt, and whether the space is residential or commercial.
Gray, black, and white blends
Clean, modern, and neutral. These work in garages, workshops, auto spaces, and commercial floors, and they match cabinets and wall colors easily.
Tan, beige, and brown blends
A warmer, natural stone direction. A softer look than a high contrast gray blend, and a good fit for garages, lanais, porches, showrooms, and interior spaces.
Blue, white, and cool tone blends
More color without going dark. A fresh, coastal inspired look that stays practical for everyday use.
Dark blends
More black, charcoal, and deep accents for a bold, showroom style floor. Worth knowing that very dark floors can show dust and tire marks more than a mid tone blend.
Buying flakes on their own
