150 Fast Cure 100% Solids Epoxy for One Day Full Broadcast Floors

One Stop Epoxy 150 Fast Cure, commonly called 150FC, is a rapid cure 100% solids epoxy built specifically for full broadcast flooring systems. It is designed for full flake, quartz, sand, and other approved broadcast floors where the wet epoxy is completely covered with decorative or functional media.

150FC can perform three jobs in one application: primer, pigmented receiver coat, and moisture vapor barrier rated up to 12 lbs. This allows experienced installers to mechanically prepare the concrete, apply one epoxy layer, complete the broadcast, and move toward the topcoat without installing a separate primer or moisture vapor barrier when slab conditions are within the published product limits.

At 75 degrees Fahrenheit, 150FC provides approximately 25 minutes of working time on the floor. Under a full broadcast, it cures in approximately 2 hours at 75 degrees Fahrenheit and can cure in as little as approximately 75 to 90 minutes in very warm conditions.

What 150FC Is Built to Do

150FC is not intended to be a general purpose epoxy. Its strength is combining fast cure, full broadcast capability, and moisture vapor protection into a single resin layer.

150FC is not UV stable and will amber when exposed to light. In a true full broadcast system, the epoxy is completely covered by vinyl flakes, quartz, sand, or another approved media before the clear wear coat is installed. That keeps the epoxy itself from remaining visible.

Why 150FC Works for One Day Full Flake Floors

A traditional epoxy installation may require separate primer, epoxy, broadcast, cure, and topcoat stages spread across multiple days. 150FC is designed to compress that sequence.

  2. Apply 150FC as the primer, moisture vapor control layer, and pigmented receiver coat.
  3. Broadcast the vinyl flakes, quartz, or sand to rejection while the epoxy remains wet.
  4. Allow the fast cure epoxy to harden.

Working Time Changes With Temperature

150FC is fast, but it provides meaningful working time after it is properly mixed and immediately placed onto the floor.

Important: Working time begins becoming relevant only after the mixed epoxy is spread onto the floor. Do not use the published floor working time as permission to leave mixed 150FC sitting in the bucket. Higher temperatures shorten working time.

Fast Cure and Topcoat Timing

Under a full broadcast, 150FC cures in approximately 2 hours at 75 degrees Fahrenheit. At temperatures above approximately 90 degrees Fahrenheit, cure can occur in as little as approximately 75 minutes.

Actual timing depends on material temperature, slab temperature, surrounding air temperature, humidity, film build, and jobsite conditions. Do not begin scraping or topcoating simply because a fixed amount of clock time has passed. Verify that the broadcast surface is hard enough for the next step.

Built In Moisture Vapor Barrier Up to 12 lbs

150FC provides moisture vapor resistance up to 12 lbs within its published product limits. This can eliminate a separate moisture vapor barrier coat on qualifying full broadcast projects.

The 12 lb rating does not eliminate the need to evaluate the concrete. Test the slab before installation and compare the result with the current product requirements. Concrete Preparation

Fast cure epoxy does not compensate for poor concrete preparation. The slab must be clean, sound, mechanically opened, and ready to receive a high build resin.

  • Remove existing coatings, curing compounds, sealers, adhesive, oil, grease, and other contaminants.
  • Mechanically prepare concrete to approximately CSP 3.
  • Vacuum the prepared floor thoroughly.
  • Repair cracks, spalls, pits, and damaged concrete before coating.
  • Test the slab for moisture before relying on the built in 12 lb moisture vapor rating.

Contractor Tip: With 150FC, the entire job should be staged before mixing begins. Have the floor prepared, flakes or aggregate opened, squeegee and rollers ready, spiked shoes on, and the crew positioned before Part A and Part B are combined.

Mixing 150FC

150FC uses a 2 parts Part A to 1 part Part B by volume mix ratio.

  1. Premix Part A. Thoroughly mix the pre-pigmented Base before adding the Activator. If separate pigment is being added, completely disperse it into Part A first.
  2. Add Part B. Pour the Activator directly into the center of the Base container. Avoid pouring Activator onto the sides of the Base container.
  3. Use the correct mixer. For a full 3 gallon kit, use only a Cage or Box style mixer. A paddle mixer does not move enough of this thick material through a full 3 gallon batch to ensure complete mixing.
  4. Mix according to material temperature. Mix for 2 full minutes at approximately 300 to 450 RPM when the material is above 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix for 3 full minutes when the material is below 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
  5. Partial batches. Measure exactly 2 parts Base to 1 part Activator by volume. A red paddle mixer may be used for partial batches. Mix only until the material is completely uniform. Smaller batches require less mixing time. Do not exceed 3 minutes.

No induction time is required.

Mix it and GET IT OUT OF THE BUCKET.

Do not leave mixed 150FC sitting in the bucket. This fast cure 100% solids epoxy generates heat rapidly when the mixed material remains concentrated in mass. As soon as mixing is complete, immediately pour the epoxy onto the floor.

Application

  1. Pour immediately. Pour mixed 150FC onto the prepared floor in long ribbons approximately 12 to 18 inches wide.
  2. Do not drain or scrape the bucket. Material remaining on the sides or bottom may not be mixed as completely as the main batch.
  3. Spread the epoxy. Use an appropriate notched rubber squeegee to spread the material at the required coverage rate.
  4. Roll and back roll. Use a quality 3/8 inch shed resistant epoxy roller cover to even the material and maintain consistent coverage.
  5. Do not continue back rolling after the epoxy begins to tack. Once 150FC starts to set, leave the material alone and continue the installation sequence.
  6. Broadcast immediately. Apply the vinyl flakes, quartz, sand, or approved aggregate while the epoxy is wet enough to completely receive the broadcast.
  7. Prepare for the topcoat. After the broadcast has cured sufficiently, scrape and vacuum the surface according to the flooring system requirements, then apply the specified topcoat.

Once the 150FC receiver coat has cured and the full broadcast is ready, scrape the surface in multiple directions and vacuum thoroughly before topcoating.

Mixing Instructions

A paddle mixer is not recommended for a full kit. 150FC is a thick 100% solids epoxy and requires a mixer that moves material throughout the entire container.

Partial Batch: Measure exactly 2 parts Base to 1 part Activator by volume. A red paddle mixer may be used for partial batches. Mix only until the material is completely uniform. Smaller batches require less mixing time than larger batches. Do not exceed 3 minutes.

Do not apply 150FC to a sun heated slab or in conditions where the floor temperature will cause the material to cure faster than the crew can properly place and broadcast it.

Application Procedure

  1. Pour the epoxy immediately. As soon as mixing is complete, pour 150FC onto the prepared floor in long ribbons. Do not allow the mixed product to remain in the bucket.
  2. Do not drain or scrape the mixing bucket onto the floor. Material remaining on the sides or bottom of the container may not be mixed as completely as the main batch. Do not attempt to recover this material by scraping the bucket.
  3. Spread the epoxy. Use the appropriate notched rubber squeegee to spread the material evenly at the required coverage rate for the broadcast system.
  4. Roll the coating. Use a quality 3/8 inch shed resistant epoxy roller cover to even the material and maintain consistent film thickness.
  5. Maintain a wet edge. Continue placing, spreading, and rolling the epoxy so each new section connects to material that is still wet.
  6. Do not overwork the epoxy. Once 150FC begins to tighten or become tacky, stop rolling that area. Continuing to roll material that has started curing can disturb the surface and interfere with the broadcast.
  7. Broadcast immediately. Apply vinyl flakes, quartz, sand, or another approved broadcast media while the epoxy is wet enough to completely receive the broadcast.
  8. Broadcast to rejection. 150FC is designed for full broadcast systems. Continue broadcasting until the wet epoxy is completely covered and will no longer accept additional media.

150FC Must Be Buried: Do not use 150FC for a partial flake floor, solid color floor, or metallic base coat. The epoxy must be completely covered by the broadcast media because 150FC is not intended to remain as the exposed visible finish.

After the Broadcast

Allow the 150FC to cure until the broadcast surface is hard enough to scrape without disturbing the epoxy underneath.

Under a full broadcast, cure is approximately 2 hours at 75 degrees Fahrenheit. In very warm conditions, cure can occur significantly faster. Always judge the floor by actual cure condition rather than the clock alone.

  1. Remove loose broadcast media. Sweep or vacuum away loose flakes, quartz, or sand.
  2. Scrape the surface. For full flake systems, scrape the cured floor in multiple directions to remove standing flakes and create the desired texture.
  3. Vacuum thoroughly. Remove all loose material and dust before applying the topcoat.
  4. Apply the compatible topcoat. Once the broadcast surface is properly prepared and the epoxy is sufficiently cured, apply the specified polyaspartic, urethane, or other approved finish coat.

Contractor Tip: Do not begin scraping a full flake floor simply because 90 minutes or 2 hours have passed. Test the floor first. The epoxy beneath the flakes must be hard enough that scraping does not move the broadcast or damage the receiver coat.

Additional Coats and Recoat Preparation

Most 150FC installations move directly from the cured broadcast surface to the specified topcoat. When the flooring system requires an additional epoxy or resin coat, follow the product specific recoat window.

For smooth resin surfaces, apply the next compatible coat within the chemical recoat window. For best results, lightly sand smooth epoxy surfaces between coats even when recoating within the chemical window.

If the chemical recoat window has been exceeded, mechanically abrade the entire smooth surface to a clean, uniformly dull finish before recoating.

Full flake, quartz, sand, and other broadcast systems are different. Prepare the cured broadcast by scraping, sweeping, vacuuming, or following the preparation procedure specified for that flooring system rather than treating it like a smooth epoxy surface.

Moisture Vapor Use

150FC provides moisture vapor resistance up to its published 12 lb limit when installed according to the required preparation, coverage, and film build.

The moisture vapor rating does not eliminate the need to evaluate the slab. Concrete moisture should be tested before installation. If the slab exceeds the published limit or presents a moisture condition outside the intended use of 150FC, use an appropriate dedicated moisture vapor barrier system.

Important: The primer, receiver coat, moisture vapor control, broadcast, and topcoat all work as parts of one flooring system. Do not change coverage rates, thin the product, add solvent, or alter the mix ratio in an attempt to extend working time or coverage.

How Film Thickness Is Calculated

150FC is a 100% solids epoxy, so coverage rate and theoretical film thickness are directly related. One gallon spread over fewer square feet produces a thicker epoxy layer.

Approximate film thickness = 1,604 divided by the selected square feet per gallon.

For example, 150FC applied at 133 square feet per gallon produces approximately 12.1 mils of theoretical film thickness. 150FC is not UV stable and will amber when exposed to light. In a true full broadcast system, the epoxy is completely covered by vinyl flakes, quartz, sand, or another approved media before the clear wear coat is installed. That keeps the epoxy itself from remaining visible.

A traditional epoxy installation may require separate primer, epoxy, broadcast, cure, and topcoat stages spread across multiple days. 150FC is designed to compress that sequence.

  1. Mechanically prepare the concrete.
  2. Apply 150FC as the primer, moisture vapor control layer, and pigmented receiver coat.
  3. Broadcast the vinyl flakes, quartz, or sand to rejection while the epoxy remains wet.
  4. Allow the fast cure epoxy to harden.

Working Time Changes With Temperature

150FC is fast, but it provides meaningful working time after it is properly mixed and immediately placed onto the floor.

Important: Working time begins becoming relevant only after the mixed epoxy is spread onto the floor. Do not use the published floor working time as permission to leave mixed 150FC sitting in the bucket. Higher temperatures shorten working time.

Fast Cure and Topcoat Timing

Under a full broadcast, 150FC cures in approximately 2 hours at 75 degrees Fahrenheit. At temperatures above approximately 90 degrees Fahrenheit, cure can occur in as little as approximately 75 minutes.

Actual timing depends on material temperature, slab temperature, surrounding air temperature, humidity, film build, and jobsite conditions. Do not begin scraping or topcoating simply because a fixed amount of clock time has passed. Verify that the broadcast surface is hard enough for the next step.

Built In Moisture Vapor Barrier Up to 12 lbs

150FC provides moisture vapor resistance up to 12 lbs within its published product limits. This can eliminate a separate moisture vapor barrier coat on qualifying full broadcast projects.

The 12 lb rating does not eliminate the need to evaluate the concrete. Test the slab before installation and compare the result with the current product requirements. Coverage must match the role 150FC is performing in the flooring system. Do not stretch the epoxy farther simply to increase square foot coverage.

For most full flake receiver coat planning, use the 133 to 150 square foot per gallon range. The exact rate should match the complete system, concrete condition, required film build, and moisture requirements.

Concrete Preparation

Fast cure epoxy does not compensate for poor concrete preparation. The slab must be clean, sound, mechanically opened, and ready to receive a high build resin.

  • Remove existing coatings, curing compounds, sealers, adhesive, oil, grease, and other contaminants.
  • Mechanically prepare concrete to approximately CSP 3.
  • Vacuum the prepared floor thoroughly.
  • Repair cracks, spalls, pits, and damaged concrete before coating.
  • Test the slab for moisture before relying on the built in 12 lb moisture vapor rating.

Contractor Tip: With 150FC, the entire job should be staged before mixing begins. Have the floor prepared, flakes or aggregate opened, squeegee and rollers ready, spiked shoes on, and the crew positioned before Part A and Part B are combined.

Mixing 150FC

150FC uses a 2 parts Part A to 1 part Part B by volume mix ratio.

  1. Premix Part A. Thoroughly mix the pre-pigmented Base before adding the Activator. If separate pigment is being added, completely disperse it into Part A first.
  2. Add Part B. Pour the Activator directly into the center of the Base container. Avoid pouring Activator onto the sides of the Base container.
  3. Use the correct mixer. For a full 3 gallon kit, use only a Cage or Box style mixer. A paddle mixer does not move enough of this thick material through a full 3 gallon batch to ensure complete mixing.
  4. Mix according to material temperature. Mix for 2 full minutes at approximately 300 to 450 RPM when the material is above 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix for 3 full minutes when the material is below 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
  5. Partial batches. Measure exactly 2 parts Base to 1 part Activator by volume. A red paddle mixer may be used for partial batches. Mix only until the material is completely uniform. Smaller batches require less mixing time. Do not exceed 3 minutes.

No induction time is required.

Mix it and GET IT OUT OF THE BUCKET.

Do not leave mixed 150FC sitting in the bucket. This fast cure 100% solids epoxy generates heat rapidly when the mixed material remains concentrated in mass. As soon as mixing is complete, immediately pour the epoxy onto the floor.

Application

  1. Pour immediately. Pour mixed 150FC onto the prepared floor in long ribbons approximately 12 to 18 inches wide.
  2. Do not drain or scrape the bucket. Material remaining on the sides or bottom may not be mixed as completely as the main batch.
  3. Spread the epoxy. Use an appropriate notched rubber squeegee to spread the material at the required coverage rate.
  4. Roll and back roll. Use a quality 3/8 inch shed resistant epoxy roller cover to even the material and maintain consistent coverage.
  5. Do not continue back rolling after the epoxy begins to tack. Once 150FC starts to set, leave the material alone and continue the installation sequence.
  6. Broadcast immediately. Apply the vinyl flakes, quartz, sand, or approved aggregate while the epoxy is wet enough to completely receive the broadcast.
  7. Prepare for the topcoat. After the broadcast has cured sufficiently, scrape and vacuum the surface according to the flooring system requirements, then apply the specified topcoat.

Once the 150FC receiver coat has cured and the full broadcast is ready, scrape the surface in multiple directions and vacuum thoroughly before topcoating.
